An article at ManilaStandardToday.com
discussed the emergence of a new IT model called SMAC (social, mobility, analytics, and cloud). It is anticipated to fuel change in the business process management sector.
According to Jose Mari Mercado, President and CEO of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), the rapid IT developments in the business sector such as SMAC are transforming the IT-BPM (business process management) space. It is anticipated to help businesses be more flexible when it comes to implementing strategies that were assumed incorrect and were initially rejected. SMAC will also be able to let businesses access data.
SMAC operates with two components; it processes information then delivers innovation and value. It is composed of social and mobile technology factors, which are expected to improve productivity and engagement. Analytics and cloud-based applications, on the other hand, are set to make way for economical solutions.
The IBPAP executive also said the demands in the market are shifting as clients are looking for innovation. This prompts all industries to utilize the fastest way possible and transform the purpose of technology from merely being a support function to becoming a vital business model of the company.
An example of a segment where SMAC is widely used is multi-process human resources outsourcing
(MPHRO). Data from Everest Group indicated that clients and service providers are using SMAC to maximize MPHRO deals.
In the healthcare segment, SMAC enables consumers and patients to interact even without having to go to a physical care facility. IBPAP noted that it helps people know more about health behavior and how positive lifestyles can be achieved.
More of SMAC will be discussed at the 5th Annual International Outsourcing Summit in Makati City called "Unlocking Possibilities, Creating New Vistas" on October 6 to 8.
