"My visit to MicroSourcing taught me that to be kind is the most important thing a person can do for others." - Riena
Student scholars from A Better Chance (ABC) Foundation visited MicroSourcing Eastwood last September 13 for an office field trip and exposure to jobs in the outsourcing sector.
The scholars' visit began with a pancake cook-off at Slappy Cakes. Students enjoyed making their own pancakes in creative shapes and letters to share with the campaign's top donors and ABC Foundation staff. When scholar Jillian summed up her day, she said, "Thank you for everything, especially the pancakes."
The scholars toured MicroSourcing's 1880 and Felina office sites and discovered the work of graphic designers, web developers, writers, and call center professionals. They met employees and top executives but the students were most curious about the process of graphic design and animation.
MicroMissions organized a short computer class to finish off the scholars' visit. Students played interactive games that practiced their math, science, geography, and English vocabulary.
The scholars wrote a thank you poster before heading home. Summarizing the group's sentiments, Denver wrote, "Thank you for giving me a chance to study in a beautiful school."
A MicroMissions campaign* in June, "All Hands on Deck" raised resources for school shoes and a scholarship fund for deserving students. The fund supports eight grade 7 students who now attend a reputable private school, Siena College - Taytay, Rizal. A Better Chance Foundation is MicroMissions’ partner for these scholarships.
