MicroSourcing Donates to Paws
Advocates of animal welfare in MicroSourcing gathered together at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society's (PAWS) Rehabilitation Center on April 6, Saturday to volunteer and turn over a donation of Php24,630 - funds raised on the company's Valentine's Day event.
MicroSourcing volunteers, their family members, and some guest kids toured the rehabilitation center and met several rescued animals, including over 65 dogs and 200 cats waiting to get adopted. Cha Laxamana, Admin Officer at the shelter, organized an orientation to educate volunteers about PAWS’ animal protection efforts outside the center. Volunteers were happy to learn of the organization’s proactive operations, including a Dr. Dog program that offers animal therapy to sick children, policy campaigns for stricter laws around animal welfare, and other awareness initiatives. The event concluded with a feeding program where volunteers prepared ground pork and rice meals for the shelter dogs.
MicroSourcing volunteers donated a total of Php24,630 along with nine cans of dog food and dishwashing materials for cleaning animal bowls. Volunteers Erika Nazario and Camille James also came forward with their own cash and in-kind donations to help PAWS keep up with its day-to-day operational expenses.
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) was selected as the recipient of the proceeds from XOXO Micro, a series of Valentine’s Day activities that raised funds for a charitable cause. PAWS isa registered non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of proper treatment of all animals.
