Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the Voluntary Code of Good Practices should be adopted by business process outsourcing (BPO) companies to help improve the pool of qualified workers of the country.
She noted that the code aims to unite BPOs and educational institutions to design programs which will improve the curriculum of schools and produce BPO-qualified graduates.
Furthermore, Baldoz said in a statement that faculty internship programs, career talks, technical forums, and curriculum review will be administered by a partnership between the academe and the ICT (Information Communications Technology).
She added that BPO-ICT companies based in Region 6 are the only ones who are following the code and its principles wherein members strive to follow measures that contribute to improving the employment aspect of the region. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Association of the Philippines Chairman Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue as well as companies such as Teleperformance, Transcom, Teletech, Focus-Direct, and BENEFIT have already committed to the good practices code. ;
