Denise D’Elia, a Vodafone representative, believes that Egypt has what it takes to be the top outsourcing destination.
Fifty percent of Egypt’s population belong to the age bracket of 25 and below, so it has a huge pool of young talent. Egypt has the third largest talent pool in the region, with 330,000 graduates produced annually. Many students also specialized in areas which are suitable for the outsourcing industry. Aside from the huge talent pool, D’Elia said Egypt’s aptitude in several European languages gives it a competitive edge.
There are also government initiatives that focus on making the country a more suitable location for outsourcing. These include tax reforms, customs simplification, and infrastructure programs.
Based on an AT Kearny survey last year, Egypt was in the 13th spot in the field of global service delivery. This year, the country got the sixth slot.
