Busuanga, Palawan, The Philippines – MicroSourcing Group (MicroSourcing and Beepo) executives recently visited Busuanga Elementary School in Palawan for the groundbreaking of a new technology hub being developed through Project Banaag in partnership with Trends & Concepts.

Located in Busuanga, a third-class municipality approximately 290 kilometers from central Manila, the school is one of six participating in Project Banaag’s pilot program across urban and rural communities, a multi-year educational initiative for young Filipino learners.

Trends & Concepts will design and build the facility, while MicroSourcing Group will provide the technology to equip the hub, along with the training needed to help students and teachers use it effectively. The project builds on the Group's relationship with Trends & Concepts, who also designed its new Clark Service Center.

"“Success means more when we give back. We do not build a better future by chance—we build it by investing in education. When we strengthen that foundation, we strengthen the future of every Filipino child.”"

- Joe Bantiling, CEO and Co-Founder, Trends & Concepts

The contribution supports two of the program’s three core pillars: EduTech and EduCare.

Through EduTech, the new technology hub will provide students and teachers with a dedicated environment for accessing digital tools, exploring technology and developing skills that are becoming increasingly important in education and the future workplace.

Through EduCare, the school will continue to receive books and other learning materials that strengthen reading, comprehension and classroom learning, extending the impact of the resources distributed during the visit.

"As a Filipina, I have always believed that the potential of our young people is one of our country’s greatest strengths. But that potential must be supported with meaningful access to books, technology and opportunities to learn.

Project Banaag allows us to invest in Filipino children at a formative stage of their lives, wherever they may be.

By helping them build strong foundations in literacy and digital learning today, we are giving them greater confidence to imagine, and eventually create, a brighter future for themselves, their communities and our country."

- Haidee Enriquez, CEO of MicroSourcing Group and President of the Customer Xperience Association of the Philippines (CXAP)

Project Banaag was launched to address three important barriers to learning through EduCare, which supports foundational literacy; EduTech, which helps narrow the digital divide; and EduLink, which introduces students to future careers through exposure and mentorship.

The groundbreaking marks an important step in bringing the Busuanga Elementary School technology hub to life and advancing Project Banaag’s commitment to supporting the next generation of Filipino learners.
