Founded on March 1, 2016, the Youth Inclusion Network is a network of companies committed to the inclusion of youth from excluded backgrounds. MicroSourcing joined the network as a member to continuously uplift the lives of youth in underprivileged areas in the country. MicroMissions’ Careers Program was a vital platform in helping the youth achieve employment through internships and eventually landing a job.
Last February 9, MicroSourcing was invited to a night of inspirational stories from youth speakers and insightful visions of speakers from Accenture, CGI, Capgemini, and Holcim.
MicroSourcing representatives Karen Cayamanda, Kris Aguas, Matthew Tolentino, and Lesley Ordinario took part in the event, together with Maria Fe Diaca, a Careers Program Batch 5 graduate who was featured as one of the youths who successfully completed their internship. Maria Fe now works as Junior Data Analyst at MicroSourcing.
The event was held at Enderun Colleges in Taguig and was spearheaded by coordinators from LP4Y, an organization dedicated to the professional and social integration of Young Adults living in extreme poverty and exclusion, as well as Sodexo Rewards and Benefits Services Philippines, a company that improves the quality of life of its consumers, clients, and partners. LP4Y’s co-founder Laure Delaporte gave a presentation on the importance of youth inclusion and the mission to make the youth from poverty-stricken areas inspire others to develop the social and professional integration of excluded youth.
A talk show-inspired Q&A was held featuring three young individuals who had experienced struggles before LP4Y assisted them in getting back on their feet. They are now working full-time in different companies. One of them was once part of the Careers Program of MicroSourcing.
Wines, hor d'oeuvres, and canapés were served during the Round Table where different companies talked about projects, challenges, and successes in sustaining the mission of YIN. There will be monthly meetings to discuss further each company’s contribution to alleviate youth exclusion and give the youth a chance to work in the corporate world regardless of background. The event also served as an avenue for meeting new friends and potential partners that will be beneficial to MicroSourcing’s mission on social responsibility.
