Having Fun with MicroSourcing Scholars

MicroSourcing’s 8th Grade Scholars from ABC Foundation Go Bowling

MicroSourcing's eight 8th grade scholars had the opportunity to visit Paeng's Eastwood Bowl last October 26.

The scholars are from A Better Chance Foundation, our non-profit organization partner that awards financially challenged children with access to a quality education. Our 8th grade scholars are studying at a private institution, Sienna College, as part of ABC Foundation's Night High School Scholarship program.

Gail Pangilinan-Espina and I accompanied the 8th graders to the bowling center for a morning of entertainment. Amongst the group were a number of first-time bowlers who later proved to be champions. The scholars were eager to have their turn and had much fun checking their scores on the LCD screens each time the bowling ball knocked down the pins. After a few tries, some of the scholars managed to score a strike!

After bowling, the 8th graders had the chance to visit 1880 Eastwood site where they were treated to pizza. While in 1880, they joyfully met with familiar faces during their MicroSourcing office tour. The ABC Foundation scholars were very fond of Lead Designer Stephen Peña whom they have met on a previous visit. MicroSourcing looks forward to welcoming aspiring graphic designers from ABC Foundation in the future.

Melissa Orlina-Matibag, Employee Engagement Lead, later offered the scholars bags of candy during their tour. The early Halloween gift definitely brought many smiles. MicroMissions would also like to thank Talent Acquisition for opening their doors to the scholars. They were in high spirits upon departure and look forward to visiting MicroSourcing again soon.
