The Talent Acquisition department of MicroSourcing took part in the Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4iT) held last September 9-11 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Formerly known as the Philippine Youth Congress on Information Technology, Y4iT was founded in 2003 and is a yearly information technology event in the country. It is organized by the UP System Information Technology Foundation (UPSITF) together with the Y4iT Volunteer Corps (YVC).
The event gathers an estimate of 25,000 attendees every year, mainly composed of college students, professionals, IT experts, and educators from different parts of the country. At this year’s Y4iT, organizers estimated that more than 26,000 participants attended the event, as notable speakers discussed the latest topics in IT such as IOT and other disruptive technologies, net neutrality and internet rights, Data Privacy Law, and the Free Wi-Fi in Public Places Project by the DOST-ICT Office. By tackling relevant IT topics, Y4iT aims to recognize young Filipinos as key drivers in the constantly-evolving IT industry.
As one of the sponsors this year, MicroSourcing welcomed thousands of college students and even teachers and introduced the wide variety of career opportunities it offers. Aside from various job openings for fresh graduates, MicroSourcing offers internship programs in the fields of human resources, accounting, IT, and back office to further equip students with skills needed in the corporate landscape.
