Valentine's Day - Eighteen MicroSourcing employees joined MicroMissions' Run for Someone Special last February 14, Saturday to raise funds for employee-chosen partner org Kythe Foundation.
For every runner, MicroMissions committed to donate P500 to Kythe's programs for psycho-social support for pediatric patients - children with cancer, heart conditions, kidney disease, and other illnesses.
"No matter what happens, I will finish the course," said a volunteer determined to earn the donation match for Kythe. Runners took the course to University of the Philippines' Heartbreak Hill and all participants successfully ran past the training ground's famous steep slope. MicroMissions awarded certificates of appreciation for the efforts of all volunteers.
The event raised P33,400 for Kythe Foundation - from registration fees, MicroMissions' match, and personal donations from MicroSourcing management and employees.
Volunteer leaders turned over the donation to Kythe Foundation at the National Children's Hospital last February 21.
