MicroSourcing took part in the DevCon Summit 2014 last Nov. 29 at The Tents, Alphaland Southgate Mall in Makati City. This is the biggest developer conference in the country.
True to the event’s theme “Developers Unite Philippines” (#DevelopersUnitePH), 10 developers from MicroSourcing joined the rest of the participants reaching a total of 724 - from IT professionals and companies to educators, students, and user groups - and learned development practices as well as tools and tricks for various platforms. The event also provided an opportunity for the participants to join different groups and meet other developers in the Philippine developer community.
Almost 400 participants, specifically job seekers, visited the MicroSourcing's recruitment booth and learned some exciting job opportunities that the company offers.
Several freebies were given to those who are interested to apply for these positions: Web Developers (PHP/HTML5), Senior IT Systems and Network Administrator, Linux Systems Engineer, PHP Developers, and QA Tester.
One of the speakers at the event was Sophie Woo, Chief Services Officer of MicroSourcing. She discussed the benefits and drawbacks of being a freelancer and being a full-time employee. She also encouraged the job seekers to explore opportunities at MicroSourcing and MicroCreatives, the creative arm of the company.
The DevCon Summit 2014 was organized by Developers Connect Philippines, a volunteer organization that provides a venue for IT professionals, educators, and students to promote the growth and competence of Filipino developers.
