Future is Bright for 3rd batch of MicroSourcing Careers Graduates

MicroMissions Careers Presents Batch 3 Graduates"I’m living proof of thriving youth. I can't imagine that I'm working for a BPO company! It's a really great achievement. I will keep moving forward until I reach my dream," said Deselyn Averilla, Batch 3 Graduate.

MicroMissions Careers* celebrated its third batch of youth graduates last August 29. A class of 11 youth, their mentors and supervisors, and other Careers Program Champions gathered to commemorate the achievements of Batch 3 interns. Interns have successfully completed a four-month course of classroom and on-the-job training that equipped them with job skills for BPO employment.

Beginning a new tradition, Zaldy Danao and Laira Genovis from Batch 2 hosted the event. Zaldy now works as a Reports Analyst and Laira as an Auditor in MicroSourcing Operations.

Representing MicroSourcing Management, VP of Operations Maricel Salao awarded the interns' certificates. Department supervisors and mentors were also recognized with tokens of appreciation for their contribution to the program.

Sharing her story that resonated with the batch, Karen Banday said, "At first, I was very shy, I didn't know how to communicate in English and I didn't have enough confidence to speak in front of many people. But now, I'm here in front of you. I can speak English. We are very excited to get out of our comfort zone and explore new things and experience what the real world is. Thank you MicroSourcing for giving us this opportunity."

As a gift from Batch 1 and 2 graduates, Zaldy and Laira also awarded special tokens for nonconventional titles like Mr. Sunshine, Most Improved, The Dreamer, The Songbird, Mr. Congeniality, and the Batch Mom.

The graduates affirmed their goals by reciting the program's Dream Pledge. "I pledge to be a dreamer. I have a vision for a bright future and I promise to make it happen. I am somebody and I have a purpose for greatness. I promise to never give up until my greatness is realized. Large or small, I will take steps forward toward my goal. Every single day, I will not stop. I am the dream, and the dream is now!"

The program finale was a message from the graduates’ BagoSphere* trainers and a dance performance by the batch. They danced to "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons.

"Congratulations Batch 3! Everyone in this room believes without a doubt that you will go places, rise above adversity and achieve your dreams. You will inspire. All you need to do now is believe it as much as we do," Geo Corneby, MicroSourcing Social Responsibility Officer, brought the program to a close.

*MicroMissions Careers builds skills and provides work experience to talented high school graduates from some of Manila’s most disadvantaged areas. The program partnered with BagoSphere for a one-month training course on English communication and computer skills.
