MicroSourcing Cebu Joins School Rehabilitation Groundbreaking CeremonyMicroSourcing volunteers received a warm and festive welcome from two elementary schools set to be rebuilt as part of World Vision's rehabilitation project. Donations from MicroSourcing’s employees, clients, and shareholders enabled World Vision to expand programs for school repair and reconstruction in the Visayas region.

For the groundbreaking ceremony last March 8, representatives from MicroSourcing Cebu visited Jose Malazarte Elementary School and Caduawan Elementary School and were welcomed to a celebration by the school officials. The group was given a tour of the classrooms with damaged roofing and walls.

Laila Abadingo, MicroSourcing Cebu Finance Lead, recalled the most unforgettable and touching moment of their visit: when the Grade 6 students sang "Glowing Inside" by Nikki Gil. The students sang volunteers to tears, "I’m glowing inside with your love shining through. Thanks for everything you do. I’m glowing inside because of you." During the song number, the students handed them thank you cards they had made for World Vision and MicroSourcing.

World Vision is an ideal partner for MicroSourcing

During Ms. Abadingo's speech, she mentioned that MicroSourcing's Corporate Social Responsibility arm is focused on programs aimed at youth empowerment, and how World Vision is an ideal partner for the company because of the organization's well-thought-out plan to rebuild derailed lives and uplift communities affected by the disaster.

MicroSourcing is thankful to everyone who extended their resources to rebuild communities and to contribute to education and child development. May this serve as an encouragement for others to join the movement for rehabilitation and reconstruction of rural Philippines.
