As several members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are preparing to join the outsourcing market, the Philippines is expected to become the best business process outsourcing (BPO) destination in the region.
According to David Rizzo, President of Teleperformance Asia Pacific, the Philippines presents a very adaptable business environment to its clients. Apart from that, the combination of cost and quality is unquestionable, making it a strong candidate among ASEAN members.
In line with that, the country is known for its strong command of the English language and it is one of its key selling points. Rizzo noted that the country is also evolving into a multilingual outsourcing destination - specifically for languages used in the ASEAN region.
He added that based on his experience in leading Teleperformance Aspac, non-English BPO services are increasing in the region - from Japanese to Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, and some of the smaller Southeast Asian language requirements such as Thai, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, and Malaysia.
