Tuesday, November 12, 2013 | Outsourcing News |

According to Jose Mari P. Mercado, President of Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in the Visayas region were temporarily halted to ensure the safety of employees who are seriously affected by the super typhoon.

Typhoon Yolanda, known globally as Haiyan, is reported as the world’s strongest typhoon to hit land. It battered the Visayas region and some parts of Luzon.

Cebu and Iloilo are the outsourcing hubs in the Visayas region that were hit by the super typhoon. Although Mercado said they still have no concrete data on the extent of the damage left by the typhoon, they are sure that these hubs were affected.
