MicroClubs was launched in a five-day event called "Love the Festivity," highlighting its goal to create more opportunities for fun and engagement in the MicroSourcing workplace. In festive and colorful booths, MicroClubs opened registration for new members, August 12-16.
MicroClubs refers to the interest groups that bring like-minded employees together in venues that allow relationship-building, skill development, and recreation. Five start-up clubs were launched in the event: the Sports Club, Dance & Music, MicroAperture, Events Club, and iVolunteer.
"We are building MicroClubs to cultivate a more vibrant environment where fun and friendship are part of everyday work," said Melissa Matibag of HR Engagement on the purpose of MicroClubs.
MicroClubs leaders actively encouraged their colleagues and friends to sign up and participate. For a preview of what to expect from the club, different games and activities were conducted during lunch time. Active employees were challenged to a basketball shootout, talented dancers enjoyed a Zumba class, visitors posed for the MicroClubs Photobooth, and for simple fun, employees played a game of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. Winners received jackets and sling bags as prizes, and everyone was treated to free ice cream on the last day of registration.
The whole MicroSourcing community awaits fun and exciting club activities for the rest of the year.
