In the World Intellectual Property Organizationís "Global Innovation Index 2013", the Philippines nabbed the 90th spot out of 142, moving up five spots from 95th out of 141 in 2012. This proves that the country is slowly improving in terms of innovation.
According to WIPO, the factors include a countryís capability to innovate and produce tangible and measurable results, and with those gauges, the Philippines scored 31.2 out of 100.
However, for innovation efficiency, the Philippines ranked 24th globally. For innovation output, it ranked 77th, but for performance input, it got the 108th spot.
Some of the countryís strengths mentioned in the report are the number of its science and technology graduates, environmental performance, and efficient use of energy.
