MicroSourcing celebrated Valentine's Day in jam-packed, enjoyable events, and activities that all aimed to raise funds for the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
The Employee Engagement Team organized six activities within a two-day festivity. On Feb. 14, employees sang their hearts out in a Videoke contest that was organized for all five Manila office sites of MicroSourcing. A photo booth was also set up in common areas. Employees held odd, funny, and informative relationship status placards as they posed for a shot. To cap a fun-filled Feb. 14, post cards were distributed for free so employees can send their love to each other on the one day where love is gloriously celebrated.
On Feb. 15, the BINGO Palooza was launched. Employees bought bingo cards for a chance to win one of the following: iPad mini, iPod nano, cameras, electric fans, rice cookers, and a microwave oven. The game went on for two fun hours while a buffet with chocolate fondue and other treats was served.
A total of Php24,000 will be donated to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) for the protection and promotion of proper treatment of all animals.
PAWS was selected through a nomination and voting survey that allowed employees to vie for any nonprofit organization that they champion. A total of 185 employees nominated 72 unique organizations. A qualified panel of judges from MicroSourcing Management narrowed down the list of nominees where each organization was evaluated for its social impact and social relevance (in light of the Philippine situation). In the end, employees voted PAWS as the winning organization among a shortlist of 15 nonprofits. A turnover event and a partnership with PAWS is currently being planned.
Apart from fundraisers, Red Cross Philippines gave MicroSourcing employees an opportunity to donate blood. A total of 160 employees registered and basked in the fulfillment out of knowing they saved more than one life with just one donation.
