In partnership with Children’s Hour, MicroSourcing raised Php150,000 for Careers for Street Youth, an initiative of BPAP, Virlanie Foundation, and Children's Hour, that seeks to provide BPO employment opportunities to very talented yet disadvantaged youth.
Since the project was announced in March 2012, over 500 employees (out of 2,000) pledged an hour to as high as 24 hours of their pay for the cause of youth employment and empowerment. The project raised Php75,000 in employee donations and with a direct match from MicroSourcing, a check of Php150,000 was turned over to Vic Platon of Children’s Hour and Idaishe Mandinyenya of Virlanie Foundation last December 1 at MicroSourcing’s annual Christmas Party. This donation will support the second run of the program in the first quarter of 2013 where training and employment opportunities will be offered to 30 young people.
