MicroSourcing joins Avon Run to support breast cancer movement

MicroSourcing Employees Run for Breast Cancer AwarenessA total of 36 MicroSourcing employees, together with their families and friends, joined a crowd of supporters in Avon’s Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Run (KGBC) held last October 21 at the Mall of Asia Open Grounds. The race marks the culmination of Avon’s Let’s Walk the Talk campaign that sought to deepen people’s involvement and knowledge of breast cancer.

One of the latest and most alarming statistics on breast cancer reports that a new diagnosis of the disease is given every three minutes. Avon began rallying thousands of supporters in their yearly walk event to raise awareness and funding support for institutions that aid in breast cancer treatment and prevention like the Philippine General Hospital Breast Care Center and other provincial hospitals nationwide. Over 200,000 men, women, and children have participated and supported the advocacy since 2005 and this year, MicroSourcing proudly joins the movement with employees and their friends and families running for the cause.

The 10K race started at 5AM with the 5K wave following after. Giveaway bags were distributed after the race, containing health products, Avon freebies, and educational materials like a cardboard fan with instructions for self-breast examination. MicroSourcing runners capped the event with a low-fat yet sumptuous and filling breakfast at the MicroSourcing office at 10th floor, Two-Ecom, Mall of Asia Complex.
