MicroSourcing believes that it is our responsibility to give back to the community and help the underprivileged. One of the corporate social responsibility initiatives of the company is the Careers for Street Kids program which was launched last March 23.
In cooperation with outsourcing industry body Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) and charity organization Children’s Hour, the PR & Marketing Department, headed by Nona Tajanlangit-Kooijman, launched the Careers for Street Kids program which aims to give career opportunities to street youth by providing them with training programs and helping them find suitable jobs in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.
Through the Children’s Hour campaign, MicroSourcing employees are encouraged to share at least one hour’s worth of their salary in a year. This will be turned over to Virlanie Foundation which will train the street kids to equip them with skills needed for employment. MicroSourcing can hire the beneficiaries of this program, and the employees can serve as mentors to help them in their careers.
