Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz pointed out to nursing graduates that the healthcare sector is brimming with career opportunities. Other healthcare-related but non-clinical forms of practice are available and are waiting to be filled by candidates who have backgrounds in healthcare.
She cited a report from the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) which indicates that the healthcare information outsourcing sector under the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry has more than 100,000 medical-related jobs ready for nursing graduates and other medical professionals.
The basic salary for healthcare outsourcing positions ranges from Php14000-Php18000 and may reach Php20000-Php40000 for more extensive types of healthcare work.
Baldoz emphasized that those who are employed in the healthcare outsourcing sector receive far more than the average Php10000 that the nurses who are working in medical and private institutions get.
At DOLE’s Project Jobs Fit program, employment opportunities that were identified include jobs in the healthcare outsourcing industry as well as in the health and wellness field. Clinical research associates and clinical appeals specialists are also feasible careers for nursing graduates, according to Baldoz.
