Research and advisory firm Gartner said India-based business process outsourcing (BPO) companies are seeing more outsourcing activity overseas.
According to T J Singh, Research Director at Gartner, global BPO organizations that are based in India like Infosys and Wipro are making a mark overseas and are growing immensely. This is credited to the fact that such companies are able to provide flexible terms and various service offerings to the growing demand fuelled by the European debt crisis and sluggish economies being faced by Western countries. BPO firms can benefit from the situation as companies look for means to cut costs and keep their business going.
The National Association of Software & Services Companies (Nasscom) estimated that the IT-BPO sector in India will post a total of US$100 billion in revenues for 2011-2012. In 2013, it is expected that the sector will post a revenue growth rate of 11-14 percent.
