Eastwood City Cyberpark has recently launched a new building, Global One Center, to help the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the country reach its $11 billion revenue target for 2011.
The cyberpark, located in bustling Quezon City, is home to several BPO service providers.
The new Global One Center is a 21-storey building that has a total floor area of 32,000 square meters, says Jericho Go, vice president for business development of Megaworld Corporation, the company that owns and develops Eastwood City Cyberpark. “More than inaugurating new buildings, we are delighted that Megaworld, together with our BPO partners and locators, is able to help thousands of Filipinos to not just get jobs, but gain long-term careers in the BPO sector,” Go explains.
According to 2009 data from the Philippine Economic zone Authority, outsourcing and offshoring locators based in Eastwood City Cyberpark have brought in $348.31 million - a 7.8% hike from 2008. With Global One Center being the Cyberpark’s 10th BPO building, it is estimated that people working at Eastwood City will number to about 35,000.
