The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) criticized the passage of a US bill stating that visa fees for IT workers coming to the US will increase.
Already signed by President Barack Obama, the law is created to tighten security measures at the Mexican border following the immigration concerns in the US. On the side of the Indian outsourcing industry, NASSCOM President Som Mittal said “the US policy in question is sending a signal that is loud and clear that foreign persons are not welcome to the country.”
Many US companies outsource processes to India, and this law will negatively affect the outsourcing industry specifically those Indian workers who are transferred to the US.
