The outsourcing of Hollywood movie production is expanding its outsourcing operations in Cebu amid increasing demand for offshore graphic artists and animators.
Hirota Paint Industries (HPI) is among such companies that are currently having to expand outsourcing operations. HPI provides visual effects editing and animation outsourcing solutions for Hollywood movies like G.I. Joe, Ninja Assasin, and Australia among others; the Philippine Star reported. The company currently employs six graphic artists for animation outsourcing solutions; a number HPI claims it is going to double within the next months.
Hollywood outsourcing firm, VersaGrafx Designs Philippines Inc., is reportedly looking to establish the Graphic Arts Academy in Cebu to further enhance the talent pool of artists in the Philippines. The academy will contain around 100 seats and will reach completion before early 2010.
VersaGrafix creative director, Junny D. Mahilum, expressed concerns that graphic artists are “overlooked by educational institutions despite it being among the most globally in-demand jobs.
