Research Firm Advises Hospitals to Outsource IT Tasks

by: Karen Cayamanda

According to Frost & Sullivan, a business research and consulting firm that provides market analysis and reports, hospitals and healthcare agencies will gain financial benefits if they join the IT outsourcing bandwagon. Aside from outsourcing IT tasks such as data management, cloud computing service can be another alternative for the healthcare sector.

"It allows hospitals and healthcare agencies to focus exclusively on their core competencies of providing patient care," said Konstantinos Nikolopoulos, programme manager of Frost & Sullivan. He added that outsourcing IT requirements will be relatively inexpensive and though there is still no widespread acceptance of IT outsourcing, the healthcare sector is slowly changing its mindset about it.
