During Nasscom’s recent business process outsourcing (BPO) summit, Indian BPO executives said the country accounts for 37% of the global BPO revenue, making it the leader once again in the global outsourcing arena.

According to Som Mittal, President of Nasscom, even with the economic uncertainty, India continues to present a robust BPO industry and is gradually transitioning to a business process management (BPM) destination to keep up with the global trend, and enable India to maintain its top position.

Furthermore, the India’s BPO sector became a reliable partner to clients due to improvements in processes and services, which customers are now more disposed to.

The Indian BPO sector was able to evolve into a ‘genuine partner’ from being a mere ‘vendor’ of services, said EXL Service Chairman Vikram Talwar, which means apart from supplying the demands of a client, they are now involved in the decision-making process as well.
