It has long been established that the Philippines is the top outsourcing destination for voice-based processes, and the information technology-business process outsourcing (IT-BPO) industry shows no signs of stopping as it is gaining traction in providing non-voice services.
According to the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP), the non-voice sector of the country posted a 30 percent growth rate in 2011. This is higher than the 24 percent growth rate posted by the voice-based sector. The non-voice sector contributed 33 percent to the total IT-BPO revenues that reached $11 billion last year.
Gillian Virata, BPAP Senior Executive Director, said there is a huge opportunity for the country’s non-voice sector since there is a growing demand for new, complex services.
The Philippines is gaining strength in providing non-voice services such as medical transcription, healthcare, animation, game development, and graphic design.
