MicroSourcing Extends Assistance to Employees Affected by HabagatMicroSourcing offered support to employees who were affected by Typhoon Habagat, an 8-day period of intense raining that caused heavy flooding and damage to infrastructure across Metro Manila and the National Capital Region from August 1 to 8.

On August 7, continuous rainfall led to the cancellation of classes and suspension of work in the government and the private sector in Manila. Close to 200 MicroSourcing employees were heavily affected, some were stranded in their flooded homes while others were forced to evacuate. The company responded by immediately carrying out its disaster recovery plan: designated people surveyed employees and coordinated rescue operations through the Philippine Red Cross and other organizations.

MicroSourcing opened all its offices to accommodate employees and their families who needed to evacuate, some of them were also taken into the homes of volunteers from the Management Team. Free food in the canteens were given out to those who got stranded in the office due to impassable roads, and grocery bags were distributed to employees who were severely affected by the calamity.

As floodwaters subsided on August 8, MicroSourcing launched a donation drive that was supported by many employees who were spared by the monsoon. A total of four boxes of donations was collected and delivered to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to be distributed to evacuation centers.
