Outsourcing News

Things are looking up for the outsourcing industry of Malaysia. From about $1.1 billion reported in 2009, David Wong Nan Fay, Chairman of Outsourcing Malaysia, said revenues are expected to increase by 20-25 percent this year.

Contributions will be coming from retail, healthcare, financial and insurance, oil and gas, supply chain services, and engineering sectors, as well as business process outsourcing (BPO) and information technology (IT) processing.

However, a research report shows the country still has to work on other sectors that are lagging behind. "For instance, in the BPO segment, we are still on the mild-side as we have just created a foothold in outsourcing such as for human resources and customer care." This is in contrast to the multiple outsourcing segment which is already thriving in the Philippines.
