As part of the company’s initiative to increase brand awareness and reach a large pool of graduates who might be suitable candidates for clients’ requirements, MicroSourcing had formed a corporate tie-up this month with Systems Technology Institute (STI). This is the second time that the company partnered with a member of the academe - the first one was with AMA University last December.
With this partnership, Manpower Acquisition Department’s Sourcing & Marketing Specialist Ron Quijano said STI will act as a sourcing channel for MicroSourcing in getting a pool of good candidates. “For our end, the usual benefits apply: access to their career portal, regular campus/career fair updates, and on-the-job trainees (OJTs). On the other hand, STI will have the chance to provide employment/OJT opportunities for their alumni/students.”
In a demographics survey Mr. Quijano conducted among MicroSourcing employees late last year, results show that STI ranked fourth in the list of schools where MicroSourcing employees graduated from. AMA University got the top spot, followed closely by the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). These survey results helped the company in identifying which schools can provide graduates who might have the skills needed by clients.

Employees across all projects and departments took part in "Spread the Love! - MicroSourcing’s Sports and Charity Event" held last February 12. This was spearheaded by the Organizational Development / Employee Relations (OD/ER) Department.
Aside from welcoming the Chinese New Year and celebrating Valentine’s Day, this event marked the launch of a fundraiser for Haiti Support Fund in partnership with Yell Adworks. The proceeds from sales of roses, gerberas, chocolates, and Chinese delicacies would go directly to the Haiti Support Fund. Voluntary pledges and donations were also accepted through salary deductions. According to Ms. Ma. Regina Lomotan, OD/ER Manager, this is the company’s way of expressing gratitude for the support MicroSourcing employees had received during the typhoon Ondoy relief drive last year.
It was also through this event that the OD/ER Department encouraged employees to participate in the Sports Activities - Basketball and Bikram Yoga Program which started last February 8 and will run until March 8. Sessions are held everyday at Bikram Yoga Eastwood while the basketball elimination round will start today at 6pm.
