Leading global business process outsourcing provider, WNS, announced that it had launched its new outsourcing delivery center in Manila, CNN reported. The delivery center was inaugurated by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who met with WNS employees after an opening ceremony.
"In a very short time, we have grown ahead of plan and expanded the services we deliver to our global client base from the region. This is truly a testament to the high quality talent in the country and their strong focus on service excellence," stated Group Chief Operating Officer of WNS Global Services and Chairman, WNS Philippines, Anup Gupta.
According to CNN, WNS Philippines has grown to over 1100 employees in only 18 months. WNS formed WNS Philippines early in 2008 in a joint venture with Advanced Contact Solutions. The new outsourcing delivery center will service several industries that include consumer products, travel and financial services, telecommunications, and provide voice and back-office services.
President Arroyo characterized the outsourcing event as a sign that her Cyber Corridor project was “in full swing”. The Cyber Corridor project aims to create interconnected centers for technology-related services in five “super-regions” that include Baguio, Clark, Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
“We are extremely grateful to the government of The Philippines for the support extended to us. We see tremendous opportunities in providing world-class services to our customers as we continue to grow our business,” commented Prabhakar Bisen, CEO of WNS Philippines.
