Eagle View crowned Counterstrike champs

MicroSourcing's official Counterstrike tournament concluded on Friday, October 16th with Eagle View project team, Counter-Terro beating MicroSourcing management team, Harry and Friends by a landslide. Both teams had yet to face any real challenge heading into the final with Counter-Terro boasting a record of 53 wins 26 losses and Harry and Friends entering the final with 52 wins and only 12 losses.
Both teams immediately sensed the challenge that Counter-Terro's marksmanship and organization posed to Harry and Friends during practice rounds. It was a challenge that Harry and Friends never looked like overcoming with the first round ending a decisive 22 and 3. Every HaF victory throughout the game was wildly celebrated as if a miracle had been witnessed with some on-lookers seeming to cheer sarcastically.
It looked as though things would change during the second round with Harry and Friends once pulling within 1 win of a deadlock. Counter-Terro, constantly barking orders to each other, caught on, however, and quickly pulled the gap to 4 wins - and never looked back. At one point, Kooijman had joked that the opposition might still win if they were armed with only knives; and, late in the game, with Counter-Terro running around the map in a knifing frenzy, it looked a grim reality.
Counter-Terro thuroughly impressed; putting up a clinic that could only be described as "magical". Prizes await both teams at the trophy presentation at the MS Cafe on Friday, October 30th.
MicroSourcing extends help to typhoon victims

MicroSourcing, its managers, employees, and clients, all joined the effort to rebuild the lives that were affected by "Ondoy", the tropical storm that ravaged the eastern coast of Luzon on Saturday, September 26th, 2009. The storm was the worst in the Philippines' recorded history with a month's worth of rain (17 inches) falling in less than 12 hours – twice the amount of Hurricane Katrina; which hit the United States in 2005.
Employees were accommodated in the offices as well as at the nearby condo of CEO Philip Kooijman when the storm hit unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon. Flooding across 25 provinces did not sufficiently die down until Tuesday, upon which time work resumed and the Emergency Relief Committee (ERC) was formed.
The ERC, composed of members of the MicroSourcing management team, was tasked with furthering the effort of confirming the status of all affected and missing employees, assessing their needs, and identifying those hit hardest by the storm. Trucks were sent out today to deliver relief goods to employees as well as to help clean out streets that have been filled with mud and wreckage. The ERC has further assisted victims by providing emergency salary loans, assisting them in filing for SSS and Pag-Ibig loans, and offering counseling to those dealing with emotional trauma.
The company has put together a MicroSourcing Relief Fund of which clients, employees, the company, and business partners have all contributed. The fund is expected to grow to at least Php 500,000 and will hopefully increase over time as many lives remain effectively derailed following the national calamity.
MicroSourcing is currently working to establish a temporary shelter for families that have lost their homes.
