Responsibilities
The Lead Senior Web Developer post will be responsible in guiding, coaching the senior web developer. He/she will also be involved in the full cycle development of the website/web app assigned. Either back end or front end web development experience will be entertained. Please see below for more details
Requirements
Front-end
- Proficient in writing standards compliant HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, DOM
- Collaborate closely with visual and interaction designers, product managers and back-end engineers to implement features and to ensure that the feature achieves the goals.
- Create, develop and produce high-quality web pages and components for our web guides and future products in a fast paced and iterative environment.
- Cross browser application development experience
- Optimization techniques
- Extensive knowledge of web standards and technologies. Familiar with CSS debugging tool, e.g., Firebug.
- Rapid learner and is passionate about designs and details.
- Knowledge of using Javascript toolkits such as YUI, jQuery a plus.
- Strong experience with PHP
- Experience programming scalable web applications.
- Extensive experience with object-oriented design and development techniques
- Experience in building large-scale, high-volume websites
- Experience/Module development to a CMS such as SilverStripe, Joomla, Drupal, WordPress or like.
- Work in rapid 2-4 weeks development cycles.
- Knowledge of agile development methodology desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with SVN, and bug tracking tools is highly desirable.
- Web 2.0 savvy and eager learner who stays on top of fast moving internet technologies.
- Experience with the MySQL database
