Organizational Development Manager
"My work as Organizational Development Manager with MicroSourcing has been a positive experience particularly with facilitating training programs for employees. This July 2009, we completed the first batch of employees who joined both the leadership training and the English refresher programs. As trainor and facilitator, the joy lies in seeing ongoing transformation and increased self-confidence of participants in both the English & leadership training programs. For August 2009, I am looking forward to increased participation of our personnel in both the English training programs and leadership training activities. We will include more resource speakers, fun activities and "live sessions" that will capture the dynamic spirit of our business and energy of our personnel and resource persons. Our training goal is to empower our people to be effective change agents in the workplace and provide a venue for professional growth and development.
Some of the feedback we got from the completed training programs:
from the English class participants:- "I learned a lot in the informal speeches and voice coaching. In general, this training enabled me to expand my comfort zone. After this program, I feel more comfortable and relaxed around people."
- "I really had fun! Now I have to think of another activity that I can do every Wednesday night."
- "This training helped me manage my team members, workload, and how to be a good leader and coach. Coaching exercises were useful. I am more confident in handling people and confronting fear and accepting comments on my performance as a leader."
- "The most relevant area would be the personality/attitude/values formation as this is important in our project."
- "Empowerment and the qualities of empowered leaders were areas relevant to me."
- "Strategic management skills helped me in my work and in the improvement of my technicians. Training helped me to adapt good work attitude."
Similar to the case method used at the graduate school of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), this approach is relevant to training programs that we offer at MicroSourcing as it allows participants to think from different perspectives and analyze a situation. These informal group sharing sessions helped participants to organize thoughts and communicate in a more effective manner. Leader/managers will benefit from strong interpersonal communication skills.
I am enjoying the training and employee relations work with MicroSourcing! For the past three months, it has been a period of professional growth, bonding, and learning from an intelligent, dynamic, and young workforce."
